World Bank President Paul Wolfowitz has come under fire lately for influencing a promotion and large raise for his main squeeze, Shaha Riza, a former underling, we assume in more ways than one.
First off, Wolfowitz deserves slack. This is the principle architect of "Shock and Awe" we're talking about here; an American patriot of immense intellect, one of the few with the guts to order the slaughter of innocent people to spread democracy and peace throughout the middle-east.
What guy worth his salt hasn't given the woman they jiggy with a little gift once in awhile? While it may not always be ethical, it's perfectly understandable. You need to stay on the good side of your honey-pot if you're going to get to dip.

We should take a hard look at what Bill Clinton has done for Hillary before we decide to go medieval on poor Wolfy. The Monica Lewinsky BJ was staged to make Hillary look the wounded-though-loyal-wife in order to gather up sympathy for her presidential run. Talk about a raise and promotion!
In all likelihood this affair (I won't call it a scandal since neither one is an intern) will end with Wolfowitz keeping his position, after an apology and a strong vote of confidence from George Bush. Ms. Riza, with a face that could scare the rats out of a Brooklyn Taco Bell, must be a hell of a bareback ride--she deserves to keep both her job and her man.

After reading this I'm wondering why I don't visit your blog more often. I'll make sure I do. I must confess that I don't know you well enough to discern where or if humor becomes tongue in cheek sarcasm. Nonetheless, this is wisdom and humor combined, in my opinion.
